Beloved Star Pat Finn, Known For Roles in The Middle and Friends, Has Died at 60 Years Old.
US entertainer Pat Finn, who was seen in popular programs such as Friends, "Seinfeld" and The Middle, has died at 60 years old.
The skilled improv artist succumbed at his home in LA on Monday after undergoing treatment for a cancer diagnosis since 2022, as reported by reports.
"He never met a stranger - only friends he didn't know yet," his family shared in a message.
They noted that he had "lived his life fully - with happiness and energy".
A Notable TV Career
Finn's first television role was in the George Wendt Show in 1995, where he portrayed the titular character's brother.
He was also seen in a regular part on Murphy Brown between 1995 and 1997.
He played the part of the character Joe Mayo in "Seinfeld" in the late 90s, depicting a host who would assign tedious tasks to his guests.
In the end of the 90s and start of the 2000s, he appeared as a guest star on a variety of popular shows, including:
- The King of Queens
- Friends
- "That '70s Show"
- "House"
Finn was perhaps best known for his portrayal of Bill Norwood in The Middle, featuring across eight series from 2011 to 2018.
His cinematic roles include It's Complicated (2009) and Santa Paws 2: The Santa Pups.
Off-Screen Life
Outside of his acting parts, Finn was deeply involved in improvisational comedy and also taught at the Colorado university, where he was a faculty member.
He was a member of a comedy group of six named Beer Shark Mice.
"Finn taught, supported, and inspired countless students during his career and you'd be hard-pressed to find a person who has an unkind word to say about him," his family wrote.
In a tribute, fellow actor actor Richard Kind remarked there was "no kinder, gentler, funnier, grounded individual you could encounter".
"Always positive, helping you be funnier and better. A great dad, a great guy," Kind wrote publicly.
Pat Finn is leaves behind his wife Donna, his children, and his family.
