Around 25,000 homes in Queensland's southeast were left without power on Monday's dawn after powerful weather events swept through the region, bringing powerful gusts topping 109 kilometers per hour.

The following day was expected to become the heaviest precipitation period, with ongoing thunderstorm potential expected across multiple regions of both regions.
