Football Analyst Sutton Faces Off Against Singer Murs in Top Flight Forecasts

The Gunners' ten-match victorious streak came to an end by the Black Cats prior to the international hiatus, but will the Premier League leaders bounce back against local foes Tottenham this weekend?

"{I believe like Arsenal are miles ahead of Tottenham currently but Spurs boss Thomas Frank will have a plan for this match," stated football specialist Chris Sutton.

"The Spurs manager will attempt to nullify Arsenal, who have not always been at their sparkling best this season - but Mikel Arteta's team usually still manage to win."

Sutton is forecasting results for all 380 Premier League fixtures this season, against artificial intelligence, fans and a range of special visitors.

In week 12, he takes on singer Olly Murs, who is a United fan.

Murs' new album, the new release, is out on the weekend.

Football and Parenting Experiences

Murs is a skilled soccer player as well as a accomplished artist and has been a star of multiple charity football matches over time - but he is not planning a professional return as a player.

"{I recently played in a charity game the other night for a friend of mine," he explained. "My team was losing 3-1 when I was substituted in the 60th minute, and they proceeded to win 4-3, so you can interpret that what you will!

"I still love football, but I injured my knee a few years ago and it even now isn't where I want it to be. I hope I could play more but the uncertainty of the sport means it's too dangerous for me in my profession to do it seriously again.

"Plus I am forty-one now, and we are not everyone is Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very content not playing football and I am gearing up for the time that my child or boy decides to play instead."

Murs and his spouse his partner have a young family, their daughter and Albert, and he is ready to follow in his father's footsteps by taking on the role of their manager.

"I won't force football on our children but I've previously told Amelia that if they happen to get the bug for it then I will have to go and get my manager qualifications - and I will likely be coaching their weekend soccer side," he added.

"I watched my nephews play a lot, and I really got into it, and I obviously owned a football club for a while too.

"My dad coached with us when I was a child, which is probably where I get it from. He coached our team for several seasons and had a wonderful time with it. That might be the next step for me as well, and I am looking forward to it!"

Premier League Forecasts

Weekend, 22 November

  • Turf Moor, 12:30 GMT

Chelsea might have to wait a bit longer for Cole Palmer's comeback from injury but their offense is now more potent with Joao Pedro and Liam Delap both returned to fitness.

In my opinion this fixture will be fairly tight, though. The Clarets are well organised and their only home defeats so far have been against the Reds and the Gunners.

This smells of a one-all draw to me, but I am actually going to choose the London side to edge it for what would be their third league win in a row.

The expert's forecast: 1-2

The singer's prediction: The Blues will be too strong. 1-3

Artificial intelligence's prediction: 0-2

  • Vitality Stadium, 15:00 GMT

The Cherries have been defeated in their previous couple games - although both of them were on the road - but they got thoroughly beaten by Villa last time out which shocked me.

On the other hand, West Ham secured two in a row before the international break and, although both of those fixtures were at their stadium, they appear competitive again.

The Hammers' sole away victory this campaign came at Nottingham Forest in August, when West Ham boss Nuno Espirito Santo was previously that team's coach.

So, what on earth do I predict here - can the Hammers continuing their streak under Nuno, or the home side responding?

I am going to choose the Cherries, because I think what happened against Villa was a blip.

The pundit's prediction: 2-0

Olly's outlook: The home team are performing strongly but West Ham have picked up under their boss. 2-2

The algorithm's pick: 1-1

  • Amex Stadium, 15:00 GMT

Brentford were considered one of the favourites for the drop before the season began, but they have surprised a few people under Keith Andrews and are in good form with three wins in their past four matches.

A family member advised me to select Brentford forward Thiago in my Fantasy Football squad a few weeks back and, unfortunately, I didn't listen.

The forward will probably find the net again on the weekend but I am nonetheless not going to pick him or back Brentford at Amex Stadium.

They have not had great success on the road this season, and Brighton are consistently decent at their stadium. Brentford will try to attack on the break but I think the home manager's side carry much more of a danger.

The analyst's forecast: 2-1

Olly's view: It could be a match where you expect there is going to be a many goals but it in reality proves to be rather tight. 1-1

The computer's prediction: 2-1

  • Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT

It is a huge game for Fulham, who have suffered defeat in five of their last six matches.

Fulham have got lots of quality in their squad but it still seems like they could be sucked into a drop zone battle.

As for Sunderland, indeed they are the unexpected success of the Premier League campaign so far.

Their performance in the two-all draw with Arsenal last time out was excellent. We've not witnessed any other team disrupt the North London side like that this term, and Sunderland were more than a match for them.

The logical choice would be to back the visitors here, because they are obviously able of roughing the hosts up too and, the last time they were in west London, they defeated Chelsea at the end of October.

But I am not going to do that. Instead, I truly need to carry on opposing Sunderland with my forecasts. I am claiming a lot of responsibility for their good results because they clearly love to prove me wrong.

Looking at Fulham's at Craven Cottage record, the only side they have been defeated by is the league leaders. Their manager's team will be absolutely desperate for a good outcome, so I am going to predict they will secure three points.

Sutton's forecast: 1-0

Olly's choice: I'm aware the visitors are doing well and additionally that the hosts are on a poor streak... but they have nonetheless been respectable at home this season. 2-0

AI's prediction: 2-0

  • Anfield, 15:00 GMT

This is a tough one to call. The Reds have suffered seven of their last ten games in all competitions, but could they be one of the sides who profit from the {international break|
