A former American diplomat, a foreign policy expert, commented, "Putin is trying to derail the progress toward increased pressure on the Kremlin." Fried continued, "We'll see tomorrow, but the likelihood of achieving a truce by pressuring Russia to get serious seem to have decreased."

The development came after the US president had recently been strengthening his language toward Russia until Thursday's call with the Russian president, which the Russian government described as "extremely open and trustful."

EU Fuel Sanctions and Economic Impact

The European Union have set a mandate for fuel suppliers into the EU to demonstrate their products are not made from Russian oil, as stated in a document released on Thursday. This measure is part of the EU's upcoming ban on purchases of fuels made from Russian petroleum, which forms part of its 18th sanctions package against Moscow over its war in the region.

Market analysts noted that trading patterns appeared to be considering the potential end of India's purchases of Russian oil. Several Indian refiners are preparing to reduce Russian oil imports, with expectations of a gradual reduction, as reported by insiders knowledgeable about the matter.

"This represents a favorable turn for the oil market as it would eliminate a big buyer of Russian crude," commented Tony Sycamore, adding that crude values were steady on the trading day.

Security Situation and Energy Attacks

A massive Moscow's unmanned aircraft and rocket attack targeted energy infrastructure in Ukraine's eastern regions on the same day, resulting in disruptions in eight regions. Authorities in Ukraine stated that Russian forces launched numerous of unmanned vehicles and dozens of projectiles, along with aerial munitions.

"This autumn, the Russians use daily opportunities to attack at our power facilities," declared Ukraine's president, adding that strikes impacted the regions of Chernihiv, eastern Ukraine, Poltava, Sumy and Vinnytsia.

International Diplomatic Reactions
